  1. Really Good Extended Battery BUT...

Posted by Tony on 7th Feb 2014

Here's my updated review. After getting this battery at the end of December and posting an initial glowing review, I now have a revision to make. First, I would still give this battery 5 stars if I were just rating the battery itself. It does everything the manufacturer says it will. You can easily go two days without recharging with moderate to heavy usage as long as you follow the instructions. However, and this is a big deal to me, the door cover for the battery is of inferior quality. I have the black cover and after only a month or so, the color has started to fade. The discoloration is very noticeable. The original cover from Samsung has not shown any wear whatsoever after about five or six months of heavy usage. I can only speak for the disappointing quality of the black cover since I don't have the white one but it is a defect that Mugen should address. If it's going to make an outstanding extended battery, why house it under a cheaply made cover? If appearances matter to you, as they do to me, it's something to be aware of before you buy this product. Oh yeah, a replacement battery cover will cost you an additional $20, which is outrageous considering I've had the product under two months. I contacted customer service about the problem but, so far, I've heard nothing back. For that reason, I'm downgrading my overall rating to 4 stars.

  2. Awesome

If I need to revise this review later I will but, after charging my battery 12 hours as recommended by the Mugen, I still have 78% battery life left after moderate usage. The battery has been unplugged now for 10 hours! That's phenomenal! I finally feel like I can do whatever I want with my phone without the least bit of concern whether it will last a full day or even longer. I was concerned that that bigger battery and added thickness to the phone would be a problem but I actually find the phone easier to handle with the thicker back, especially when trying to operate it with one hand. It's much more substantial but not too heavy and the added girth is not bad at all. Indeed I find it preferable. For me, one handed operation with the thinner back was more difficult because the phone feels much less secure in my hand and I was afraid of dropping it. The thicker back is more ergonomic in my opinion and I have much more confidence when performing functions with one hand. To be clear though, I have fairly large hands. People with smaller hands would not likely be able to comfortably operate the phone with one hand no matter what. Thanks Mugen. Excellent product!

  3. Still don't know the differrance

Posted by Spike on 17th Dec 2013

So I believe that having a bigger battery is better, but is really this battery giving more? I can't say unless I do a whole test which should be: continuous talking till the battery finish, contentious video play and then web surfing.

It's the only way to really see if there is a difference.

I like it any way but We need to see a real test from gsmarena or engadget

    Thank you very much
